Tomek Sikora

Artist info

Tomek Sikora was born in 1948 in Warsaw, Poland, of a painter mother and a sculptor father.

He worked as a photo jourmalist for 10 years in Poland before he travelled to Australia and started working as advertising photographer producing numerous campaigns for which he was awarded many times. He also continued his activity in artistic photography.

In 1979 and 1980 Tomek participated in 2 important group shows of Polish Photography 1839-1979 at International Center of Photography in New York and White Chapel Gallery in London. He created photographic illustrations for the book “Alice in Wonderland” which in 1980 were presented at the XI Biennale de Jeunesse at The Pompidou Centre in Paris. From then on Tomek started exhibiting extensively in Europe, USA and Australia. He presented over 30 solo shows and is the author of many book publications of his personal work.
